A place for you to dig deep roots of faith with Jesus
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Prayer has less to do with the eloquence of our words, and more to do with seeking God. Prayer moves God’s hand here on Earth, and it keeps us aligned with His purpose for our lives.
We only exist as a church because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Everything we do is rooted in the mission of Jesus and the truth of the Bible.
At Palm Church, we value growing in our faith together. We want to be firmly planted in the Lord, and committed to life-giving community.
Healthy believers always bear fruit. We pursue spiritual, emotional and physical health to impact the world for Jesus Christ
STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Bible is God’s inspired Word, shaping our faith and guiding our daily lives. It is the ultimate source of truth, free from error.
Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—coequal and co-eternal.
Genesis 1:26; Isaiah 9:6; Matt. 3:16-17 & 28:19; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 3:7-11; 1 John 5:7
Jesus Christ is God the Son, fully God and fully man. Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life and willingly laid down his life to die for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in power and glory.
Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1, 14; John 20:28; Philippians 2:5-6; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Timothy 3:16
God’s redemption plan for humanity is simple; Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Through His death and resurrection, He offers salvation, forgiveness, and redemption to all who believe. We are saved by grace alone, through faith in Him—this is a gift from God, not something we can earn.
Romans 10:9-10; Galatians 2:16 & 3:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 9:22
The Holy Spirit guides and empowers believers. He comforts, teaches, and strengthens Christians to live according to God’s will. The Holy Spirit also helps believers understand God’s Word and equips them to share His love with others. We believe that all believers have access to the Holy Spirit and receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit when they are spiritually born again.
John 1:12, 14:17, 14:23, & 15:4; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:11; Revelation 3:20
We believe that holy living is the evidence of a transformed life. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, believers are called to reflect Christ’s character in all they think, say, and do.
Galatians 5:22-23, Matthew 5:14-16, 1 Peter 1:13-17, Hebrews 12:14-15
After placing faith in Jesus Christ, every new believer is called to be baptized in water, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38, 8:12, 36-38, & 10:47-48
Communion is a sacred practice where believers remember and appreciate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the breaking of bread and drinking from the “fruit of the vine” (wine or grape juice). The bread represents His body, broken for us, and the cup represents His blood, shed for the forgiveness of sins. It is a time of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual renewal, as believers are united in Christ and strengthened in their faith.
Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16 & 11:23-25
God gives gifts for the building of His Church. We believe that the gifts of the Spirit referred to in the book of Acts and in the letters to the early churches (like Corinthians) can still be seen today. Spiritual gifts are distributed according to God’s will and enable believers to experience God’s supernatural power here on Earth. With that being said, Spiritual gifts equip the Body of Christ for ministry, and we believe that God has given guidance for the practice of Spiritual gifts within the church context and should be used in a God-honoring and orderly way.
1 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 13, 1 Corinthians 14, Galatians 5:22-26, Ephesians 4:11-16
We believe God intends marriage to be a lasting & committed relationship between one man and one woman. This bond is also a reflection of the lasting, committed relationship between Jesus and His Church.
Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:25, Mark 10:9, Matthew 19:4-6
Palm Church believes that Biblical accountability for church leadership is essential because it aligns with Scripture’s guidance on leaders’ conduct and qualifications, as seen in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. It protects the church from misuse of power, fosters humility and spiritual growth in leaders, and ensures integrity (as emphasized in Hebrews 13:17 and James 3:1). Because of our commitment to accountability, Palm Church has partnered with the Wesleyan Church for financial and leadership accountability.
LEAD PASTOR
Zach and Annie met in college ministry at church and quickly discovered a shared passion for serving others and building community. Zach has spent the past 10 years working for the local church, serving at 12Stone Church in Atlanta and Skyline Church in San Diego—where he had the opportunity to serve with Annie as well.
The Wilburs are from San Diego and love their city, and in 2023 they felt a clear calling to plant a church for their friends, family, and community who didn’t yet know Jesus.
When they’re not serving or building the church, you can find them enjoying beach days, hanging with family, and on the hunt for the best food spots around town. Their greatest joy (and current boss) is their newborn son, Jackson—who keeps life fun, loud, and running on very little sleep.

PARTNERSHIP
We could not have gotten here without God's favor, and the support of so many others. Thank you!
